“My mother always told me that on the day I was born the clouds had gone away on holiday with the wind, and a bright sun was shining instead. Soon, my brothers opened both eyes. I only opened one.”
So begins the story of Rima, a happy and playful puppy born in a neglected place where food and cleanliness are scarce. Although having only one eye is not a problem for her, it seems to be an issue when it comes to finding a home. Will anyone finally notice all that she has instead of what she lacks?

THE WRITER.
Julia Pérez Villegas was born in Asturias, a place filled with mountains and fairytale characters. Her mother, a talented storyteller, brought her up on bread and fantasy. As she grew up, reality trapped her in its net, but only for a few years. Her two daughters freed her and, with them, she rediscovered the exciting world of children’s and young adult literature. In 2017 she published her first story, which was followed by others.
‘Once the monster of the imagination has been awakened, it is very difficult to stop it’, says the author. In addition to writing, she has founded her own publishing imprint, Tu Cuento y tú, with the intention of returning the emotion of opening a new story to childhood.
