The full history of the Indochina Wars beginning with the French colonising Indochina and enslaving the people there. That goes on to the French passing laws which forbade the continuing use of Chinese writing character. The French transcribed all of the Vietnamese language into the Latin script and taught that in all schools. That was once done so that you could enable more easy regulate of the population of the Vietnamese people! This resulted in Vietnam being the one country in Asia to make use of the Latin alphabet. This book also looks on the political issues surrounding the Second Indochina War (Vietnam War) and the political intrigues which have been in place in Paris, Canberra, Washington and London in addition to Moscow.
